Sportside is delighted to announce a partnership with bobsleigh team Bob Team Baird ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Sportside, the Connect and Play app for athletes and participants at all levels, is proud to be teaming up with Sergeant Adam Baird of the Royal Marines and this two-man team as they prepare for next year’s Beijing Games.
Sergeant Baird – or Adz as he prefers to be known –competes in bobsleigh across the world under the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association (BBSA) banner and is looking to be one of Team GB’s two 2-man Bobs in China next year.
Sportside is Bob Team Baird’s principal sponsor and will be funding the new Bobsleigh to help him on his mission.
Adz, a serving member of the Royal Marines for the past 12 years, started bobsleigh competing for the Marines and the Royal Navy in 2017. He joined GB Bobsleigh as a pilot in 2019 and made his GB debut on the Europa Cup circuit at the end of that year. He has also competed at national level in powerlifting as well as representing the Royal Marines at rugby union, rugby 7s and rugby league.
Adz Baird said “It’s an absolute privilege to join forces with Sportside, they have given my team a sled which will give us a solid foundation from which to work from,” said Adz. “Our next step is to gain as much experience on the ice and push ourselves to the limits physically in the off season to progress us to the World Cup and ultimately an Olympics. Thank you Sportside!”
Jeremy Bourke, Chief Executive at Sportside said: “We are privileged to be able to partner with such an esteemed athlete and to be establishing links with the Royal Marines which is such an iconic beacon for fitness and performance. Adz represents all that we at Sportside admire in any athlete and we look forward to supporting his bobsleigh career in earnest.”
